New Berlin Eisenhower is 8-2 against Pewaukee since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will challenge the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. New Berlin Eisenhower is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Things were looking good for New Berlin Eisenhower after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of New Berlin West. Lions fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Vikings since Monday.
Lauren Nutt was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Liedtke, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, while Pewaukee put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Pius XI Catholic. The Pirates put the hurt on the Popes with a sharp 13-0 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Samantha Brewster's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hailey Hutchens was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine matchups. Harper Gould was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Pewaukee is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
New Berlin Eisenhower might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Pewaukee in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
