Lincoln had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Englewood Pirates as they made off with a 20-3 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by ten runs or more this season.

Byron Leyva made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gio Acosta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Jose Bustos was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Lincoln hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Englewood struck out eight times.

Lincoln's record is now 11-2. As for Englewood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lincoln will face off against Bruce Randolph at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.44 runs per game on average), something the Lancers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Englewood, they will square off against Fort Lupton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
