Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Buckeye's 11th in Last 13 Outings

Buckeye won the last time they faced Normandy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bucks were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Invaders. The Bucks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matches by nine runs or more this season.

Kelsey Metter was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Alyssa Traylinek also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Buckeye always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher in four consecutive games.

Buckeye has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Normandy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Looking ahead, Buckeye will be playing at home against North Olmsted at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Normandy, they will head out to face off against Valley Forge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Invaders are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
