The South Bend St. Joseph Indians can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Jimtown by a score of 45-36. The victory was just what South Bend St. Joseph needed coming off of a 71-34 loss in their prior contest.
South Bend St. Joseph's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayla Woods, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Woods. Another player making a difference was Nicki Byrne, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Several Jimmies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justyce Williams, who scored 18 points. Natalie Butler was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
South Bend St. Joseph's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Jimtown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
South Bend St. Joseph will take on South Bend Riley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jimtown, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Triton at 7:30 p.m. Triton is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
