Hobart has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Andrean Fighting 59ers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Hobart focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 last Friday.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Hobart, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to Kankakee Valley. While losing is never fun, Hobart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Kankakee Valley is ranked 80th).
Despite the loss, Hobart saw an underclassman step up: Riley Weber scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Andrean's 25-4 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 32-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hanover Central. Andrean has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hobart now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Andrean, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Hobart suffered a grim 84-58 defeat to Andrean when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hobart was down 50-29.
