The Nunamiut Amaguq entered their tilt with the Alak Huskies with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Nunamiut really took it to Alak for the full four quarters, racking up a 82-48 win on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Nunamiut has posted against Alak since February 16, 2019.
Nunamiut found their leader in underclassman Tyler Hugo, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 18 rebounds. Hugo is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justus Mulcahy, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Alak still got an impressive performance from Josiah Henry, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Paul Okpeaha, who scored 11 points.
Nunamiut's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Alak, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Nunamiut on the road again on Saturday and play against Non Varsity Opponent at 8:15 p.m. on January 13th. Non Varsity Opponent is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Alak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
