John Marshall hasn't had much luck against J.R. Tucker recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Justices will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. John Marshall will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
John Marshall is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-3 margin over Richmond High School for the Arts on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Jackson Cobb made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.
In other batting news, Dwayne Ferrer was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of John Marshall's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Chris Stallings was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
John Marshall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. They are 6-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
J.R. Tucker had lost three consecutive heartbreakers to Monacan and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The Tigers came up short against the Chiefs, falling 9-2. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Chiefs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Yamal Ferguson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
John Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for J.R. Tucker, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.
J.R. Tucker's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: John Marshall has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. It's a different story for J.R. Tucker, though, as they've only averaged .335. Will they be able to contain John Marshall's hitters?
