This season hasn't been kind to Achievement First, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were dealt a 91-44 defeat at the hands of Weaver on Thursday. Achievement First has not had much luck with Weaver recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Weaver had a senior duo take command as Madden Cupe scored 26 points along with four steals and Fazal Khan scored nine points along with 20 rebounds and four steals. The match was Cupe's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nasir Wright , who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Achievement First's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Weaver, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Achievement First will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against South Windsor at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Weaver will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Classical Magnet at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
