Springfield Southeast scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 70-49 to the Calvary Saints. The defeat leaves the Spartans without a win on the season.

Luke Blackford was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine steals for Calvary. Blackford's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Joshua Long was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Springfield Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Calvary, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Springfield Southeast and MacArthur will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield Southeast has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Calvary, they will venture away from home to challenge Tri-City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.3 points per game this season.
