The Ransom Everglades Raiders fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Palmer Trinity Falcons on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Ransom Everglades still got an impressive performance from Zeke Battier, who dropped a double-double on 39 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Battier has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Nabaka, who scored nine points.
Even though they lost, Ransom Everglades smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmer Trinity only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Palmer Trinity was led to victory by Harrison Miles and Graham Yanowitch. Miles scored ten points along with seven assists and four steals, while Yanowitch scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Yanowitch hasn't dropped below 15points for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emil Infante, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Ransom Everglades' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Palmer Trinity, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ransom Everglades will take on Somerset Academy South Homestead at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Somerset Academy South Homestead focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Thursday. Palmer Trinity won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mater Brickell Academy at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Mater Brickell Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 last Wednesday.
