Despite the loss, Garinger saw an underclassman step up: Misa Garris scored 32 points along with five steals. Garris is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Janaviah Dillard, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Garinger struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Cuthbertson found their leader in underclassman Christian Johnson, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amayah Rogers, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Garinger has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Cuthbertson, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
