The Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks are ranked highly in their home state, and on Sunday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas. Miller School of Albemarle fell to Georgetown Prep 61-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (56), Miller School of Albemarle still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Miller School of Albemarle still got an impressive performance from Reece Hagy, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Ryan Crotty was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Miller School of Albemarle's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Georgetown Prep, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Miller School of Albemarle's road trip will continue as they head out to face Roanoke Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Georgetown Prep, they will be playing at home against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 39th in Virginia, while Georgetown Prep is ranked fourth in Maryland).
