After two games on the road, McDowell is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Burns Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McDowell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
McDowell scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Avery County for the full four quarters, racking up a 86-49 victory on the road. McDowell might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four matches by 37 points or more this season.
McDowell's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Clara McCartha, who scored 12 points, and Kensly Stewart, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kimora Stewart, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, Burns were a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They were dealt a 56-16 loss at the hands of Maiden. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Burns has scored all season.
McDowell's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Burns, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
