The Maiden Blue Devils will challenge the Bandys Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Maiden barely beat Lincoln Charter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 7-1 victory on Wednesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Raegan Rembert was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Bryan, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Payten Mann also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Bandys waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Wolves. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.
Like Maiden, Bandys also got a great game from a two-way player: Haven Helton. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Helton was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Paige Barrymore was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Avery Alexander, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Bandys was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in six consecutive games.
Bandys pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Maiden, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Maiden couldn't quite finish off Bandys in their previous meeting back in March and fell 6-4. Will the Blue Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
