Mountain Range is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Westminster is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mustangs will welcome the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Mountain Range is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Boulder on Thursday as they made off with a 38-17 win.
Cameron Williams had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 127 yards on nine of 14 attempts. James Watt was in the mix as well, providing Mountain Range with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mountain Range was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Mountain Range didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Francisco Ramirez and Austin Ramirez. Francisco is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Mountain Range got some further help from Kian Martinez: he picked up a sack, made six total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defended one pass.
Meanwhile, Westminster hadn't done well against Overland recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wolves blew past the Trailblazers, posting a 56-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Westminster found their leader in sophomore Kevan Bunton, who rushed for 150 yards and four scores on only 15 carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. The Wolves are undefeated when Bunton posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Santana Soriano, who threw for 198 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.
Mountain Range picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 5-2. As for Westminster, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-2.
Mountain Range couldn't quite get it done against Westminster in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 28-15. Thankfully for the Mustangs, Mason Kiewiet (who rushed for 204 yards while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 175 yards and one TD while completing 76.9% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
