Even though The Estes Park Bobcats have not done well against the Flatirons Academy Bison recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Estes Park breezed by Flatirons Academy at home to the tune of 48-14. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Estes Park's two-point performance the match before.
Estes Park had a senior duo take command as Ryland Reetz rushed for 51 yards and three touchdowns and Jose Gonzalez gained 139 total yards and three touchdowns. Estes Park also got help from Matthew Asche who showed off his sure hands for 104 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Flatirons Academy still got an impressive performance from Judah Burgess, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown. Burgess really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
Estes Park's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Sheridan and 1-8 The Pinnacle (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 19.4% over those games). As for Flatirons Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Estes Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Flatirons Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
