It was a good run, but Bishop Manogue unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 66-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Damonte Ranch Mustangs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-40 back in December of 2024.
Despite the loss, Bishop Manogue saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eli Benna went 5 of 12 en route to 14 points. Chase Alvarez was another key player, putting up ten points.
Even though they lost, Bishop Manogue was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Damonte Ranch only racked up seven assists.
Drew Dodson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds for Damonte Ranch. That makes it four consecutive games in which Dodson has scored at least a third of Damonte Ranch's points. Another player making a difference was Kin Vong, who posted seven points.
Bishop Manogue's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9. As for Damonte Ranch, they pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
