University hasn't had much luck against Rosary Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Trojans will head out to square off against the Royals at 3:30 p.m. University is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
University will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Woodbridge, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Warriors on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Carson Cruz - Babson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Amela Hoang - Scripps was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Gidget Smith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Rosary Academy made easy work of Northwood on Tuesday and carried off an 11-3 victory. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Alexandra Kontogouris was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Kontogouris was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on K'Lene Gutierrez, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Audrinah 'Boo Boo' Barajas was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Rosary Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
University's record is now 10-6. As for Rosary Academy, their record now sits at 8-12.
