The Trezevant Bears waltzed into their game Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They really took it to Wooddale for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-26 victory at home. That 57-26 margin sets a new team best for Trezevant this season.
Trezevant's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Courtney Chaffin, who almost dropped a triple-double on 15 points, nine rebounds, and ten blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Chaffin has scored at least 25% of Trezevant's points. Another player making a difference was Cordarrel York, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Trezevant's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Wooddale, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trezevant will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crosstown at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Crosstown is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. Wooddale will be home for the holidays to greet Westwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Wooddale likes a good challenge.
