The McGavock Raiders lost against the Cane Ridge Ravens back in February of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. McGavock's rough 65-43 loss to the Ravens might stick with them for a while. McGavock was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-26.
Cane Ridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyshaun Poore led the charge by scoring 14 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Keelen Ward, who scored eight points along with three steals and three blocks.
McGavock has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Cane Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McGavock won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Overton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Raiders in Tennessee (the Bobcats are ranked 112th, while the Raiders are ranked 323rd). As for Cane Ridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Burros at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. One thing working in Hillsboro's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matches.
