The Southview Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 35-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scott. Southview was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Scott apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
Despite the loss, Southview saw an underclassman step up: Lacie Filas scored 12 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Dorn, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Southview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Southview's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for Scott, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Southview will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Bowsher at 7:15 p.m. Scott won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lima Senior at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Lima Senior focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Saturday.
