Simla won the last time they faced Calhan and things went their way on Friday too. The Simla Cubs took their game with ease, bagging a 61-20 victory over the Calhan Bulldogs. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 30 points or more this season.
Leading Simla to victory were Haylee Easler and Carlee Cox. Easler went 7-for-11 en route to 16 points and three steals, while Cox shot 55% from the field on her way to 13 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Easler a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Kerst, who posted nine points and six boards.
Simla was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Calhan only five assists.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Willow Levicki, who earned four points. Another player making a difference was Kailey Peterson, who had two points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Simla has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Calhan's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 13-9.
Simla does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calhan, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-31 win against North Fork on the 1st.
