Evangel Christian (Alabaster, Ala.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
Victory Christian (Columbus, Miss.), 35-6, on Saturday.
The Lightning were up 21-0 at the half after taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter.
Evangel Christian expanded its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. EC scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
David Baggett.
Josh Letson stood out for the Alabaster school in the win. The junior tight end caught one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Victory Christian's
Cody Bolton played well. The sophomore wide receiver ran for one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
VC's lone touchdown came on a 50-yard run by Bolton in the third quarter.
In a Christian (8 Man) game next week Victory Christian (1-3) takes on Flint Hill Christian, and Evangel Christian (3-1) will go up against Ballard Christian in a non-conference game.
