New Hope took care of business in their home opener on Friday (barely). They pulled ahead with a 21-20 photo finish over the Itawamba Agricultural Indians. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Despite the defeat, Itawamba Agricultural saw an underclassman step up: Xavier Waters rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown. Waters got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible62 yards.
