The Gregory School is 5-0 against Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Gregory School Hawks will look to defend their home court against the Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind Sentinels at 5:30 p.m.
Last Friday, The Gregory School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 36-30 to Patagonia. The Gregory School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rose Pisetsky, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 50% of The Gregory School's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Zena Smith was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Phoenix Day School for the Deaf 19-16. The victory was just what Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind needed coming off of a 34-10 loss in their prior contest.
The Gregory School has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10.
The Gregory School took their victory against Arizona School for the Deaf & Blind in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 39-17.
