The biggest upset of the week belonged to Bluffton, who defeated 61st ranked Ashley Ridge, 41-28.
Fort Dorchester took down Colleton County 56-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kobe Garrett threw for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 132 yards during the win.
The Patriots' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Garrett chipped in 132 yards. D'Monte Bailey helped Fort Dorchester's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 15 yards.
Garrett was the most successful running back in AAAA Region VIII this week. Teammate Nahshon Cyrus added to the ground attack by rushing for 83 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Alex Davis of the Bobcats is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,027. He has also thrown 9 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Corey Rawlings. The Fort Dorchester star has 14 catches for 249 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Bluffton and Fort Dorchester face off next week.
Next week's game between Ken Cribb's team and Steve Laprad's team will feature an aerial matchup as Davis tests his arm against Daveon Brown's defensive ability.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Ashley Ridge takes on Beaufort. Kenneth Walker's team is currently in fifth, while the Eagles are in second.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Patriots and the Bobcats face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Fort Dorchester comes in having scored 207 this season, while Bluffton has scored 164. The Patriots scored 56 points last week as they bested the Cougars.
The Bobcats made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,880 from 4,426. The advance stemmed from a 41-28 victory over Ashley Ridge last week.
