The Manchester Squires will be playing in front of their home fans against the Central Noble Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After only six points in their last match, Manchester made sure to put some points up on the board against Whitko on Friday. Manchester claimed a resounding 49-19 win over Whitko on the road. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Manchester had established a 29 point advantage.
Reiss Gaerte had a dynamite game for Manchester, rushing for 311 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Logan Eastgate was another key contributor, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Central Noble got themselves on the board against Prairie Heights on Friday, but Prairie Heights never followed suit. They strolled past the Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 14-0.
Central Noble can attribute much of their success to Devin Hiestand, who rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Hiestand was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards.
Central Noble's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Adam Marker and his two sacks.
Manchester's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Central Noble, their victory also bumped their record up to an identical 4-6.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Manchester has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 183.7 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Central Noble, though, as they've been averaging only 69.6 per game. How will Central Noble fare against such a dominant running game?
