Ashton Carter Dazzles in Avon Win

Starting off the list is Avon's Ashton Carter, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Carter rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August.

Carter and Avon will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Brownsburg at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st. Carter will face off against Brady Lewis, the Bulldogs' star rusher. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

Big Game from King As Westfield Won 44-7

Westfield picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Deacon King. Franklin Central had no answer to King as he rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. King's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Westfield pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. King and Westfield will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.

Carsen Melvin Makes It Two for Westfield

Keeping King company is Carsen Melvin, a fellow Westfield player. He threw for 241 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.

On the season, Melvin has thrown 11 touchdowns while averaging 155.6 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 6.33 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 17.11 rushing yards.

Alex Burke Delivers Electric Effort Vs Hamilton Southeastern

Brownsburg was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Alex Burke did his best to prevent it. Nobody could stop Burke as he made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss) and defended a pass.

Burke might have his next game, a home matchup with Avon, circled on his calendar. Burke picked up 1.5 sacks, forced a fumble, and made eight total tackles (3.5 for loss) the last time he and the Orioles duked it out back in September.

Makyi Hines Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Avon got the W thanks in part to Makyi Hines playing the best football he has all season. Hines made 19 total tackles.
