The Homer Knights were the 38-37 winner over the Wynot Blue Devils when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with Homer falling 60-41. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while Wynot is ranked 44th).
Homer's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Lilly Harris and Annah Harris. Harris scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Harris scored ten points along with six rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, Homer were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Homer and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Wynot, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Homer will take on Lawton-Bronson in a holiday battle at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at. Wynot will be home for the holidays to greet Wausa on Friday. Hopefully Wausa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
