Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Malcolm Clippers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 30-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fillmore Central on Friday. Malcolm's loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Maddox Meyer threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Dalton Amen rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Fillmore Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trevor Roach out in front who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Treven Stassines and his 81 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Fillmore Central's win.
Malcolm's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Fillmore Central, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-1.
Malcolm will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Ponca at 7:35 p.m. on December 12th. Fillmore Central is on the road again on Friday and play against Norfolk Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on November 10th. Norfolk Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 246 points over their last five matches.
