Basketball Recap: Roger Bacon Comes Up Short

Roger Bacon was the 84-71 winner over Clark Montessori when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Roger Bacon Spartans fell to the Clark Montessori Cougars 56-50.

When it comes to explaining why Roger Bacon lost on Friday, don't look at Christian Byrd. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points. Byrd is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Josh Cook was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Roger Bacon now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Clark Montessori, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roger Bacon will head out to take on Elder at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clark Montessori, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Clark Montessori Cougars face off against the Cincinnati College Prep Academy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Clark Montessori has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 179 points over their last three matchups.
