The Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 69-8 loss at the hands of LaSalle. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Don Soffer Aventura has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Don Soffer Aventura still got an impressive performance from Liana Kozko, who scored eight points. That was a full 100% of Don Soffer Aventura's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
LaSalle found their leader in underclassman Alexandra Gonzalez casar, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Gonzalez casar is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Candy Cruz was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Don Soffer Aventura's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for LaSalle, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Don Soffer Aventura will take on Donna Klein Jewish Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for LaSalle, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Sunset at 3:30 p.m. Hopefully Sunset focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 last Saturday.
