1A District 4 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Liberty County extended the longest winning streak in 1A District 4 this week by beating South Walton, 48-0. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Bulldogs.
Franklin County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,017 from 13,093. The advance stemmed from a 51-0 victory over the Seahawks last week.
Blountstown's Hunter Jordan and Ryan Hathcox have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Jordan has thrown for 360 yards this season, while Hathcox, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has five catches for 127 yards. Jarkice Davis from Port St. Joe leads the league in rushing with 670 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Liberty County takes on second place Port St. Joe. Liberty County beat the Seahawks last week, while the Sharks topped West Gadsden.
There should be lots of points scored when Grant Grantham's team and Port St. Joe face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 176 this season, while Chuck Gannon's team has scored 144. Liberty County scored 48 points last week as it bested South Walton.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Bulldogs take on the Sharks. Liberty County has allowed 94 points this season, while Port St. Joe has given up 108. The Bulldogs allowed 0 points last week as they defeated Phil Tisa's team.
The Sharks led 1A District 4 in scoring this week after putting up 57 points on the Panthers.
