The Piqua Indians were the 62-45 winner over the Butler Aviators when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The matchup between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Piqua falling 44-30. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 697th, while Butler is ranked 322nd).
Piqua lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being TATE KUHLMAN, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Martin, who scored seven points.
Piqua struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Piqua's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Butler, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sidney the next time they take the court. Piqua will host Sidney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Butler will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th.
