The Goretti Gael will head out on the road to square off against the Fort Hill Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Goretti is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Wednesday, Goretti escaped with a win against Washington by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47.
Goretti's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amiyah Fulton led the charge by scoring 12 points. Olivia Bolduc was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Fort Hill's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Mountain Ridge 58-16. While losing is never fun, Fort Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while Mountain Ridge is ranked 43rd).
Goretti is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Fort Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
Goretti didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Fort Hill in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 43-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Goretti since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
