After flying high against the Mount Olive Pirates last Tuesday, the North Forrest Eagles came back down to earth. North Forrest's tough 43-23 loss to Greene County on Saturday might stick with them for a while. North Forrest has not had much luck with Greene County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Greene County was led to victory by Rakhiya Moody and Zamiah Knight. Moody scored 12 points, while Knight scored 14 points along with six steals. The matchup was Moody's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kam Lawrence, who scored eight points.
North Forrest's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Greene County, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
North Forrest will head out on the road to face off against South Jones at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Jones is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. Greene County will be home for the holidays to greet Moss Point at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Moss Point is ranked 135th, while Greene County is ranked 133rd).
