The Omaha South Packers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 60-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Millard South. While losing is never fun, Omaha South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Millard South is ranked 109th).
Despite the loss, Omaha South still got an impressive performance from Lou Hodoly, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Sean King was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten rebounds.
It was another big night for Isaac Jensen, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds for Millard South. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jensen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Koby Meyers, who scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks.
Omaha South bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Millard South, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-7.
Omaha South and Burke will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Millard South, they will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln High at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lincoln High focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
