After soaring high against Hancock County last Friday, Icarus fell to the ground on Friday. Cumberland Gap found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-40 punch to the gut against Meigs County. If Cumberland Gap were hoping to take revenge for the 6-42 loss against Meigs County the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The defeat dropped Cumberland Gap's record to 2-0. The win bumped Meigs County's record up to 2-0.
Cumberland Gap have some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next game, which is against Oneida at 7:30 PM in two weeks. As for Meigs County, they will face off against Sequatchie County. Meigs County continues their travels as they hit the road for the second straight game.
