Sunset is 10-0 against Aloha since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. Even though Sunset has not done well against Mountainside recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Sunset enjoyed a cozy 52-33 victory over Mountainside. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sunset.
Meanwhile, Aloha's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. Their rough 48-24 loss to Westview might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Aloha can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Westview is ranked 49th).
Sunset has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Aloha, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
Everything came up roses for Sunset against Aloha in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 56-19 victory. Does Sunset have another victory up their sleeve, or will Aloha turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
