West is a perfect 5-0 against Kearns since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will challenge the Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, West put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. They blew past Highland 25-10. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Janayah Young was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Atelaite Fa, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .784. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kearns, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Bonneville with a sharp 24-14 victory on Friday.
The team relied heavily on Sky Aguirre, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Brooklyn Aguirre was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
West's record now sits at 6-8. As for Kearns, their record is now 9-13.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Kearns struggles in that department as they've averaged .506. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 against Kearns by a conclusive 18-3 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
