The Morningside Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 48-39 to Grandview Prep. Morningside Academy found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Morningside Academy still got an impressive performance from Marvin Tidas, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tidas has scored all season. Brandon Clark was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
Leading Grandview Prep to victory were Marco Jordonne and Markenson Jordonne. Jordonne scored 20 points along with six rebounds, while Jordonne scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Jordonne hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Colquuhoun, who scored four points along with two steals.
Morningside Academy dropped their record down to 13-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Grandview Prep, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morningside Academy will take on Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grandview Prep, they will play host again and welcome Boca Raton, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
