Softball Recap: Auburn Riverside Wins Going Away Against Stadium

Auburn Riverside's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Stadium Tigers 12-6. Considering the Ravens have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kylee Curtis tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hannah Potter, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 3-for-3. Seneca Aarstad also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Auburn Riverside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Auburn Riverside's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-3. As for Stadium, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Auburn Riverside will face off against Zephyrhills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Stadium, they will square off against Mt. Rainier at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season.
