The Wilson Area Warriors fell victim to the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers''s stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Tigers, falling 53-0. While losing is never fun, Wilson Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 501st, while Northwestern Lehigh is ranked 64th).
Jeramy Cressman threw for 93 yards on nine of 17 attempts. Nathan King was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards and no touchdowns.
Dalton Clymer was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Braxton Lakatosh, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Wilson Area to a paltry 107 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Northwestern Lehigh's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Bryer Reichard and his two sacks.
Wilson Area's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Northwestern Lehigh, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-0.
Wilson Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northwestern Lehigh is also done with their season.
