Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the West Boca Raton Bulls, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 24-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coconut Creek on Friday. West Boca Raton's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Several Bulls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zacharias Walls, who picked up 161 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, West Boca Raton's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Chase Quarterman was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
West Boca Raton's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Coconut Creek, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
West Boca Raton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Coconut Creek will head out on the road to face off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Thomas Aquinas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 contests -- so hopefully Coconut Creek likes a good challenge.
