The Falls Lake Firebirds's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Raleigh Charter Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Falls Lake pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Vance Charter by a score of 58-55. Falls Lake has not had much luck with Vance Charter recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Caleb Hawkins, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Crabtree, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Raleigh Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Princeton, falling 65-29.
Falls Lake has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Raleigh Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Falls Lake strolled past Raleigh Charter when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 64-49. Does Falls Lake have another victory up their sleeve, or will Raleigh Charter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
