Softball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe lost against Kamiak back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Monroe Bearcats fell just short of the Kamiak Knights by a score of 13-12. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monroe got a massive performance out of Hadley Oylear, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Oylear a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Scarlett Nagy, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Monroe now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Kamiak, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe will venture away from home to square off against Juanita at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kamiak, they will head out to face off against Snohomish at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
