The Clarkston Angoras had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 76-67 victory over New Horizons Prep Academy on Saturday. With that win, Clarkston brought their scoring average up to 51.3 points per game.
Jonathan McBride continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 10 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Clarkston's points. Lawerence Reeves was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Clarkston's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for New Horizons Prep Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clarkston will take on Southwest DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest DeKalb knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Clarkston likes a good challenge. New Horizons Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Notre Dame Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 18, 2024.
