Humboldt-Del Norte - Big 5 recap November 5, 2013
Eureka extended the longest winning streak in Humboldt-Del Norte - Big 5 this week by beating Arcata, 48-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Eureka took down the Tigers 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Alexis Robinson threw for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 64 yards during the win.
Jason White's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Michael McClurg chipped in 61 yards. Malik Boults helped Eureka's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 52 yards.
He was 4-9 with 1 interception.
Derrick Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as the Loggers defeated Arcata. Smith racked up 3 receptions for 76 yards. Boults helped Eureka's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 52 yards.
Eureka's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Loggers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Robinson has thrown for 904 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Nick Bartlett has 15 catches for 324 yards. Robinson also leads the league in rushing with 723 yards.
An important game coming up in Humboldt-Del Norte - Big 5 this week will be when McKinleyville takes on Fortuna. At the moment, the Panthers are in fourth, while the Huskies are in second.
Fortuna made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,127 from 6,178. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-12 victory over Del Norte last week.
