The Staples Wreckers came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Bridgeport Central 67-40 on the road. That looming 67-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Staples yet this season.
Staples found their leader in underclassman Sam Clachko, who scored 19 points along with five assists and three steals. Mason Tobias was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Staples' win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Bridgeport Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Staples will challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bridgeport Central, they will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
