While Gilbert Christian's win against Payson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Longhorns 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won four in a row.

Gilbert Christian was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-22, 15-8.

Lillie Duitsman paced Gilbert Christian's offense, picking up 25 kills. Duitsman were helped by Sidney Loth and Kendall Moore, who contributed 23 assists each. Duitsman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, Payson still got an impressive performance from Jenna Schinstock, who had 13 digs and two assists.

Gilbert Christian's win bumped their record up to 24-7. As for Payson, their defeat ended a seven-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 26-7.
